EDS is pleased to announce that the Rev. Dr. Brandon Thomas Crowley will join EDS as Director of Theological Education and Senior Research Fellow in Religion, Homiletics, and Ecclesiology - a new position. Dr. Crowley is an African American pastor, author, and scholar in religion, theology, and queer theory.
Carter Heyward, one of the Philadelphia 11, reflects on her groundbreaking 1975 hiring at EDS alongside Sue Hiatt. Despite initial resistance, their 25+ year collaboration championed feminist and liberation theologies, anti-racism, and LGBTQ+ advocacy. They transformed EDS into a vital institution for an evolving Episcopal Church.
From July 22-24, Dr. Kwok Pui Lan and President Bucklin attended a workshop in Brasilia entitled “Decolonial Theological Education for Discipleship: A Workshop to Develop Theological Education Resources for the Americas and Caribbean,” hosted by the Commission for Theological Education in the Anglican Communion (CTEAC).
