Visitor Parking

Temporary Passes

Because parking is limited EDS does not guarantee a parking space on campus for every authorized car. This means that, if there are not legitimate parking spaces available at a specified time, cars are not permitted to park in an illegal area.

All visitors will be asked to park in the P Lot (101 Brattle) and display a temporary parking pass on their dashboard. Guest passes for a day or part of a day are $10 each.

To apply for a temporary pass, please send the following information to parking@eds.edu at least two days prior to arriving on campus:

  • Name
  • Cell phone number
  • Car Details
    • License plate number and state
    • Make, model and color of car
  • Reason for vist: this includes day(s) and time(s)

After we receive and process this information, we will contact you about picking up your pass from Wright Hall.

Public Transportation and Public Parking Lots

We also suggest using public transportation, when possible. The campus is a short walk from the Harvard Square stop on the MBTA Red Line.

Below are some convenient public parking lots located in the Harvard Square area:

Holyoke Parking Garage

Located 50 yards from Harvard Square, between Massachusetts Avenue and Mt. Auburn St. Please enter the garage from Holyoke St. Open 24 hours, 7 day a week.

Church Street Parking Lot

Located just off of Harvard Square at 41 Church St. Church Street is a convenient walk to our campus as it connects to Brattle St. If you are coming from west of Boston, and plan on heading down Rt. 2, an easy way to get to Cambridge is by using the T. Parking at Alewife is convenient and simply board the Red Line. In 10 minutes you will arrive at the Harvard Square stop and we are two to three blocks down the street. Open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Parking for EDS Students, Staff, and Faculty

All cars parked on the EDS campus during the school year must display an EDS parking permit no later than September 6 of the current school year.

To obtain a parking permit, an application must be completed and returned with the applicable fee to parking@eds.edu.

Fees for Parking Permits and Passes

  • Overnight: $10
  • Weekends: $20 (after 5:00 PM Friday through 8:00 AM Monday)
  • Semester weekends/twice a week pass: $50
  • Semester once-a-week-pass: $45

Please remember that parking is being strictly enforced by Lesley Public Safety. Those assigned to Lots EDS-SJR, P or Q should park only in the lot where the permit is assigned. If there is a problem with parking in your assigned lot Public Safety should be contacted at 617-349-8888 for assistance.

Parking Violations and Fines

Lesley & EDS permit holders parking in the wrong lot will receive a warning citation. Subsequent violations will include a $15 fine. The following outlines the fines and penalties for unauthorized/illegally parked vehicles on EDS and Lesley property:
  • No permit/not registered: $25.00
  • Parking in HP space without appropriate plates: $75.00
  • Blocking: $25.00
  • No Parking area: $15.00
  • Parked in a reserved space: $15.00
  • Parked in a guest space: $15.00

Vehicles without a valid permit or parked in restricted areas or impeding traffic, including blocking, are subject to citation and immediate towing at the owners expense. Lesley reserves the right to have an illegally parked vehicle towed from the property at the operator/owner's expense without warning. A third violation will result in an immediate tow. All fines must be paid within 21 days from the date of issue in order to avoid a late fee. Late charges of $15 will be added to any overdue fine.
