EDS alumna Christi Humphrey was recently hired for a newly created position of Director of Alumni/ae and Constituent Engagement. In this new role Humphrey will oversee and direct outreach, programming, engagement, and stewardship strategies for alumni/ae, parishes, organizations, and friends of Episcopal Divinity School. She will work closely with staff and volunteers to develop new alumni/ae relations program initiatives and explore opportunities to strengthen existing programs.
Christi’s extensive experience in the Church, business, customer service, event planning and execution, volunteer management, communication, and technology prepares her well for this new role. Moreover, her knowledge of Episcopal Divinity School, the wider church, and her relationship with EDS alumni/ae, students, and friends give her a distinct advantage in approaching her goals.
“I see myself,” says Christi, “as someone who will create vital and vibrant connections between EDS and alumni/ae, parishes, organizations, and friends leading to a mutually beneficial relationship. As an advocate for Episcopal Divinity School and someone who has received the benefits of an EDS education, I look forward to helping make connections which encourage involvement in the school.”
Christi is a certified spiritual director and for the last two years has co-taught the Spiritual Direction Practicum for The School of Theology and Ministry at Boston College. She is a current member of the Ministry Developers Collaborative and an immediate past president of the Massachusetts Bible Society. She, her husband Jim, and son Sam, live in Cambridge. She begins full time at EDS on July 23.
