Theological Education Sunday

Sunday, February 3, 2013

Will you continue in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship,

in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers?

I will, with God’s help.

In the Baptismal covenant, we are all called to a life long journey of enriching our faith through study. Each spring, the Church celebrates Theological Education Sunday, a day for thanksgiving and celebration of those who seek to strengthen their faith through study and for those whose ministry is providing Christian Education.

Whether you celebrate Theological Education Sunday on February 3 or another Sunday, current EDS students are available to preach or speak at your congregation. Because of the EDS Distributive Learning option, we have students from across the country who are interested in sharing their story. Additionally, you can request inserts about EDS and the importance of theological education for your church bulletin for this special day. Every time we come together to worship; we share the truth that everyone is a student of God’s word. Each person is important in carrying out God’s mission of justice, compassion, and reconciliation in the world.

Episcopal Divinity School maintains the well-deserved reputation of training some of the most gifted leaders in the Christian world. We hope you will take advantage of educating others about this ministry for Theological Education Sunday or for any day that suits your church’s schedule.
